Summary
After being adopted by Shiro five years ago, and finally feeling truly cared for by someone, Keith still struggles with old habits and feelings. Going from one foster home to another has taught him a lot of things. One being that you should never let your guard down.
Keith always was the loner, not really interacting with anyone. But lately it seemed like a lot less people were trying to mess with him. Being known by his quite tempered nature. The collection of detentions from fights can only confirm that.
As for going into the third year of highschool, he finds himself being a target of some sort of bet set by his classmates.
The bet was set by no one else than the schools lover boy Lance McClain. Things wont end up so well, and as an apology, Lance invites Keith to his house party. In order to make a good impression on Shiro by making it seem like he can make at least one friend, Keith agreeds, proceeding to start a weird releationship with that boy.or
Loner Keith gets invated to Lances house party and they eventually start to talk to each other. Plus angst ofc.

Red has been Keith's favorite color. Red like his motorcycle and red like summer sunrises. Keith also hates the color red, because he sees it on busted lips and broken fingers, in flushed faces and angry mouths. He sees it shimmering on his skin. He hates red and he hates himself so it ends up fitting anyway.

The only mark shared will be the name of their other half, and the feelings they have will continue to be shared as well.
Lance hated it. Waking up with marks littering his body. The feeling of broken bones, bruised body parts, constant pain, and constant sadness and fear. It was a weird thing, feeling something that wasn't really there. The bruises would show up, but his ribs, ankles, wrists, nose, and more always felt like they had been snapped and stepped on when they were actually perfectly fine. He hated it. Feeling the weird, muffled pain and sadness. Feelings that weren't really his, but still bothered him as if they were. He hated it so much.
