Summary
The thing about surviving the end of the world was that you were supposed to feel relieved.
Mike was pulling away and Will felt like he was losing a piece of himself. But things aren't always what they seem.
Mike was gutted at what he was doing. But he had no choice.
"Tomorrow, he would start pulling away. Tomorrow, he would begin the process of creating distance. Tomorrow, he would break both their hearts to keep them both safe." -

Summary
Robin shifted her weight, glancing between them. Her fingers drummed against the glass bottle—tap tap tap, a nervous rhythm. "So... do you know something?"
Nancy's head snapped toward her. Their eyes met, and she saw it—recognition. Shared understanding. The weight of carrying someone else's secret pressed between them like a physical thing. "Do you know something?"
"I might know something," Robin said slowly, drawing out each word like she was testing their weight. Her leg started bouncing—that nervous tell Nancy had learned to recognize over the past few years of working together while they saved the world, and then here, preparing for the end of the world. "Do you know something?"
"I might know something," Nancy admitted, and felt her pulse pick up speed, felt heat creeping up her neck. -

Summary
“Your friend, Eleven, disrupted your assimilation,” Vecna explains, so close Mike can see his crooked, rotting teeth. “The others were gone in a moment, absorbed into my psyche, but you… linger.” His expression darkens on the word, bitter that things didn’t go as planned. “But no matter. It won’t last long. You are simply an echo of a dying mind. You’ll lose yourself soon enough. Lose yourself… to me.”
Dread settles in Mike’s stomach. Unlike the others, he doesn’t even get the privilege of a proper death.
This hell is just for him.
Or: Trapped in Vecna's mind, Mike tries desperately to hold onto a fading sense of self. Meanwhile, the Party in Hawkins struggle to pick up the pieces and prepare for their final confrontation with the evil that has overtaken their town.
This is a continuation from my s4 rewrite in which Mike never made it to California, covering the 18 months between s4 and s5. Read Part 1 first!!

Summary
After a fight with Will, Mike Wheeler finds himself in a universe that isn’t his.
Then another.
And another.
Across countless different lives, Mike sees how things between him and Will could end: the worlds where they never meet, the ones where they drift apart, and the ones where he realizes too late what Will meant to him.
The only thing that remains the same in every universe is the version of Will guiding him through them.
And somewhere between those worlds, Mike begins to understand what this journey is trying to teach him.
Or: Mike Wheeler travels the multiverse and finally gets the hint

Summary
In D&D, a good DM will let you choose the path of your story. The opposite is known as railroading your players – no matter what they choose, they always end up following a predetermined path.
Mike has always felt like his life is being railroaded. Even when he was a child. Even when he became an outcast and was friends with outcasts. Even when he got involved with the supernatural side of Hawkins. Even when it got put under quarantine, trapping them all in this suffocating small town.
After the Mac-Z, the Party's plan to kill Vecna goes sideways, and Will is lost to his own mind. Mike can do nothing except fight his inner demons at the end of the world, all while overhearing some conversations not meant for him.

Summary
"Don’t," the other Mike cuts in, fast and low and urgent. "Don’t do this here. Don’t do this in front—" his eyes slide over—”not in front of them."
"Why not?" Will's future self snaps. "You wanna talk so bad, let’s talk."
"Not like this.”
“No—exactly like this,” he shoots back. “You don’t get to keep doing that. Acting like protecting him—yourself—is the same thing as protecting me.”
That lands harder. Quieter. More dangerous.
“You think he doesn’t deserve to know?” he goes on. “You think I didn’t?”
“Will.” A warning.
“You wanna start with the summer?” he says. “Or should we just skip ahead to New York?” A beat. His mouth twists. “Or even better—Dustin’s graduation?”
[Or: The one where Will and Mike meet their future selves, and discover they have some... unresolved issues.]
[Or or: The one where your humble author somehow stumbles ass-backwards into a series finale re-write?]
