Summary
Yawning, Wriothesley rolls over to find the bed empty, the space where Neuvillette slept cool to the touch. He drags his hand over that empty space and pushes himself up. Across from the bed, the bathroom door is mostly closed, a thin sliver of light spilling around the threshold, bright in the early morning darkness. It’s cute, he thinks, that Neuvillette thought to close the door, especially because Wriothesley is a light sleeper.
And yet Neuvillette was able to slip out of bed without waking him.
That’s a thought Wriothesley definitely doesn’t want to unpack right now.
Wriothesley helps Neuvillette get dressed.

The question is so stunning, so shocking, that Wriothesley doesn’t really answer at first. He says, “Mm,” as he turns the page of his book, a thick, musty old tome about Remurian architecture. And then Neuvillette’s words actually process, and he freezes in the process of turning the page. “I—You—Collars and leashes?” Wriothesley asks, floored.

“You are aroused,” Neuvillette observes.
A strangled noise catches in Wriothesley’s throat. “You can’t just say that.”
“No?” Neuvillette cants his head to the side, though the gesture is meaningless in the darkness of the box, with Wriothesley’s forehead against the wall of it.
“People don’t—” Wriothesley exhales heavily. “I’m trying not to make you uncomfortable.”
After Neuvillette and Wriothesley volunteer to help Lyney and Lynette with a magic trick, they find themselves trapped in a box. They make do with their situation.
