1901年、海難から生還した九歳の少女は漁師に拾われ、人身売買業者に引き渡された。東京へ向かう途中、鬼の襲撃から逃れた少女は、元鬼殺隊員の小林宗介に図々しく付いて行った。彼女は自分の名前を明日緑に変えて、そして小林に弟子入りを懇願した。
私は誰？ 私はどこから来たの？ 私はどこへ行くのか？
生き残るため、足場を固めるため、失われた過去を探すため、そして存在するかどうかが分からない帰属を見つけるため、少女は浮き沈み、悲しみと喜び、血と涙の旅に出る。人間と鬼の間のあらゆる恩讐を通して、彼女はより広い世界を垣間見ることができるのだろうか？
全編は前塵、今朝、来生の三巻に分かれている。前塵の巻には師徒編と独行編が収録され、現在は完結しているが、今朝の巻は連載中である。作者は社畜なので更新は不定期ですが、絶対に中途半端しない。物語を楽しんでいただければ幸いである。
