Summary
Massive reparations have long since been a burden for the Malfoy family, forcing them to enter the workforce. It's been eleven years since the war, and Draco Malfoy is now a skilled Dispeller for the Ministry's Spirit Division. He used to pride himself on maintaining a healthy work-life balance, but that changed when Harry’s ghost showed up to haunt Malfoy Manor. Draco, although reluctantly, has to figure out who killed his former rival in order for his spirit to move on, as it seems like the most logical course of action. But Harry, on the other hand, becomes attached to more than a sense of justice after realizing how much Draco has matured.

Summary
Draco knows that there’s no point even putting himself in the race. If Harry Potter is going to mate with anyone then Draco Malfoy isn’t just low on the list– he’s on the blacklist. Harry Potter, he is sure, would rather eat old leather than entertain so much as looking at Draco again. Not to say Draco thinks Harry still loathes him, worse, he thinks Harry doesn’t consider him worth thinking about at all. A colossal waste of time, that’s Draco.

Omegas go into heat four times a year, alphas rut every twelve or so months. An alpha will accept most omegas, but omega can be pickier. In most circumstances it doesn’t matter so much but a wizard with Harry’s magic can be as dangerous as a Hungarian Horntail when in heat. Draco’s heard, whispered at those same parties and Ministry events, that a short list has been made. Alphas invited to service Harry during his next heat, if he’ll accept them at the time. Draco catches one jackass excitedly whispering to his friend near a punch bowl about how this could be his chance, how if he makes a good impression it could turn into a proper courtship. All Draco can think is ‘good luck’ and ‘you couldn’t pay me enough’.
Turns out, actually, you wouldn’t need to pay Draco very much at all.
Wednesday Hermione Granger calls off sick at the Ministry which tells Draco that the sky is falling or pigs somewhere have grown wings. Thursday the rumor mill is in full swing. Some alpha letting slip they got the call. By Friday a handsome young wizard– who Draco considers a charming idiot– has been admitted to Mungo’s for some kind of injury. Draco hopes Harry pulled that nasty trick from Sixth year to cut his dick off but, no, sadly, Harry just broke both his kneecaps. You win some you lose some, Draco supposes, pleased enough.
