"Maybe you should kill them," Harry says. He's sitting perched on the stairs, hands clasped together, green eyes watching Tom and his irritating year mates. His form is hazy around the edges, an almost translucent quality to his image.
"I can't just kill people," Tom says.
    "Not in public.”

There’s more to peace than the absence of war. The work is as hard and uncertain as any Shinobi mission.

Read the comments. Also good job on the formalities and societal complexities, especially from the POV of a civilian in a shinobi village, and how they can leverage what little they have on the shinobi, even from a disadvantage. And on Naoki’s pleasure for controlling and directing and seeing others do her bidding.

For Teddy Lupin, Harry Potter would become a Dark Lord. For Teddy Lupin, Harry Potter would take down the Ministry or die trying. He should have known that Hermione and Ron wouldn't let him do it alone.

The beginnings of Chapter 10 is where we really see stereotypical villain dialogue but from the heroic side. Especially from George, who is amazingly even more unhinged than Harry. Kinda like his Bellatrix.
Page 9 in the comments has some good character POV questions. Same with page 53 on Harry’s relationship with Dark Lords and Dark magic and how the Vow made things worse not better.

He wondered if the Black family had ever actually thrown anything out, other than disappointing family members.

“Magic is capable of incomprehensible wonders,” Andromeda spoke softly, “of equally Dark and light.”
Harry stared at the delicate tea cup in his hand and wondered if he would ever truly know the world he now belonged to.

"It's not particularly nice and it'll probably be raided by Aurors one of these days, but it's warded and it's yours for as long as you want it.”
Hermione wiped her eyes with the sleeve of her free hand. “You have such a way with words."

    “To friendship.”
“To family,” Harry spoke around the lump in his throat.
Hermione raised her glass to theirs. “To the end.”

If they made consorting with Dark Lords illegal, half of the Ministry would be shipped off to Azkaban. All of them would richly deserve it.

“We sent children to fight our wars. We expected a boy to defeat Voldemort. This is our just payment.”

Ever since she’d been small, Hermione’s reward for good marks had been a rampage through a bookshop, so the day she tore open her O.W.L.s results and triumphantly brandished the eleven Outstandings, her beaming mother said, “We’ll go to Foyles tomorrow,” without any discussion required.

    Summary

"Proofing, also sometimes called final fermentation, is the specific term for allowing dough to rise after it has been shaped and before it is baked."

Less than a year has passed since the final battle, and the Ministry is already up to its old tricks. Harry would very much like them to stop ignoring due process, tossing people in Azkaban, controlling the press, and menacing the populace with dementors.

He would also like, if at all possible, to bake a passable loaf of bread.

    Ch 3:
“ “You couldn’t live with things as they were," she went on, "You couldn’t let other people, never mind yourself, be subjugated without doing something, but at the same time – at the same time, you would wonder if it were your place to try and change it. And at every turn there will be people to tell you that it isn’t, and suggest that perhaps you just don’t understand…”

“I think,” said Harry slowly, “that it became our place the minute we started thinking of it as home. And anyway, if its not your job to fight other people’s prejudice, it’s not your job to carry it out, either, and staying quiet is about the same thing, pretty much.”

Hermione looked relieved that he’d understood. “I like to remind myself, sometimes, that we were invited.”

Harry only nodded, because he’d always done exactly the same. He had kept his final Hogwarts letter, the one delivered to him from Hagrid’s pocket, for years now. It lay buried at the bottom of his old trunk, a reminder that once upon a time, someone had wanted him.”
