That piercing blue gaze finally dropped, settling on the cup in his hands and the little game he was playing with the aromatic vapor. Summary
There's something about Wriothesley's visits up top that's been troubling him lately.
Or, not quite troubling as it is…poking his brain. Piquing his interest, so to speak.
Lately, for some reason or another, he keeps finding Neuvillette waiting at the entrance of the Fortress of Meropide. Looking pensive, stare far off into the distance, up until it meets Wriothesley’s gaze and refocuses to take him in from head to toe—and by head to toe, he really does mean head to toe. Had anyone else done a once-over on him—any other civilian for that matter—he’d think he was being checked out.
Seeing as it's Neuvillette though, that's probably not it.
Hint: that's definitely it.

“You sound exactly like Sigewinne when you say that. And really, it’s not that serious.”
That worried frown falters into something a little more confused. “Is it not? Then the worst news you speak of…”
“I’m in love with you.”
Neuvillette blinks.
Then blinks again.
“...pardon?”
Wriothesley has Hanahaki disease, and deals with it accordingly.
Sigewinne makes sure that nothing ridiculous (like a lack of communication) happens.

Neuvillette watches as Clorinde swiftly stifles a twitch of a frown from showing on her face. Strange. Did he say something odd?
“...pardon me, Monsieur, but if you’re concerned about my closeness with His Grace,” Clorinde says slowly, “then please rest assured, we are just friends. And, ah…I’m not interested in men.”
He blinks.
She merely stares back.
Neuvillette seeks out advice from Wriothesley's closest friends on what to gift him for his birthday. There are a few misunderstandings along the way.

With how highly Wriothesley respects the Iudex, it's a given that he prefers not to waste the man's time. He will come when Neuvillette calls, and he will always be there to provide aid should there be any particularly unruly, incoming inmates. He may take his time whenever it comes to basking in the sun, but with Neuvillette, he will always ensure that he never overstays his welcome; on the other hand, should Neuvillette wish to linger, he is always happy to continue entertaining him.

Well, he’s not quite sure what to do when Neuvillette invites him to a meeting with no business in mind.
“You’re…giving me a tea cup set,” he says carefully, slowly, eyeing the fancy tea cup set that Neuvillette has presented before him on his coffee table.
Neuvillette wishes to give Wriothesley a tea cup set he made. Wriothesley is confused on what he should question first: the existence of the gift, or the fact that it seems to be designed after Neuvillette himself.
