Summary
Armand lets the moment of his reveal linger, remaining still as a statue, hoping the boy might try to run and give Armand more of a chase. Daniel doesn’t run, though. He just frowns, and pants, his breathing and his heartbeat going appropriately rabbit-fast. Armand worries for a moment that he’s been recognized, and that the boy’s memory of the week they spent together on Divisadero Street may be less erased than he thought.
“Are you Lestat?” Daniel asks, and eliminates that worry.
Armand laughs before he can think to contain it, a sharp sound that clearly frightens the boy, and nearly frightens Armand himself.

Dad is 71, early stage Parkinson’s disease, broke his hip 6 weeks ago. No signs of cognitive decline; mostly needs help with household tasks (cooking, light cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping), getting dressed, showering, changing cat litter/general cat care, getting to and from appointments.
Please know what you are getting into; Dad is physically more or less in good health but awful at accepting his limitations, unnecessarily mean, generally uncooperative, and largely nocturnal. Imagine yourself caring for a feral raccoon that is convinced it’s going to write another book, then subtract everything that is cute about raccoons.
$20/hour, roughly 4 hours a day. Must be able to pass a background check and lift 50 lbs. Patience of a saint not required but preferred.- Language:
