Summary
Frodo froze. His face paled, lighthearted words disappearing in an instant. Sam spun around, hand reaching for a phantom hilt of a sword left far away in the armoury. For a moment, he didn’t see anything. Maybe Frodo was having one of his episodes again, though he couldn’t begin to fathom what could have caused it. Then he spotted it.
A spider. Not gigantic, but… Big. Its spindly legs stretched out, poised to run but frozen in place. Sam felt his own breath hitch.
“Sam.” Frodo’s voice was almost a whisper.
“Yes, Mister Frodo,” Sam replied softly, his own voice shaking slightly.
“There appears to be a situation.”
“Yes, Mister Frodo.”
“What do we do?”
or: in the hour before Aragorn's coronation, Sam and Frodo find themselves trapped in Frodo's bedroom. the enemy blocking their exit? a slightly larger than average house spider. and their trauma too, they suppose.
