George feels his blood freeze, his breath gets caught in his throat, and he squeezes his eyes shut. He can’t watch. He can’t see the look on Charlie's face as he lies to his baby sister, like he did every time someone asked why mum would barely look at him, can’t see Percy, the only person who knows why, give Ginny that sad look when she realised that Charlie is lying, and Charlie never lies. He can’t handle seeing the memories again, of the first couple of awful months after Charlie’s 17th birthday, Hogwarts feeling empty without their big brother, of Mum screaming at ten year old Ron to go to his room for asking the simple question of why did Charlie leave a year earlier than he should have, of Percy, who cries as much as Charlie lies, with tears falling down his cheeks as he gets his first letter from him.
