She’s ready for war. He’s never gonna see it coming.
So why do his eyes light up every time she enters the room? Why does she laugh at his stupid jokes, feel her heart flutter when he singles her out to hang out with, and have to catch herself wondering what it would feel like to kiss his dumb human lips?
It just doesn’t make any sense.
And is not a trap. This is not a trap. I can be trusted with your hearts. I would never ever lie to you.

Summary
I've seen many E2 fics that seem to follow very similar tropes when it comes to how certain characters are portrayed, so I wrote this to see something different. Since the original epilogue of the game makes it pretty clear that the chance of them reuniting is slim to none, I've changed many things about the timeskip. You can consider this a E2.5-E3.5 of sorts. Hope you like it.
