Summary
It’s the only way she allows herself to still hold onto him, this shallow ritual they’ve created and grip tightly between their hands. They play along partly because if they keep going for long enough they’ll eventually end up with something that’s true, and partly because in their imagined worlds, the two of them can keep Bren safe in the way they failed to the first time around. He is out there, somewhere. He has to be.
“A town hermit near the Menagerie Coast," Wulf suggests, "living on the outskirts, giving out strange advice to people who get lost.”
Astrid laughs, at that one, laughs and laughs and laughs.

Summary
“Nott. My friend.” Nott pretends her heart does not jump at that, just a little. Friends seemed like a concept that belonged solely in the past, up until recently, along with home and happiness and hope. “What are you doing?”
Caleb really is the most obtuse clever person Nott has ever known. “I’m making a flower crown.”
He seems almost bemused, watching her examine and pick her material.
“Do Goblins weave flower crowns?”
Probably not.
“I told you,” Nott says. “Everyone likes flowers.”

Summary
Falsely accused of conducting espionage against the Dynasty on the orders of Trent Ikithon, Caleb is imprisoned in the Dungeon of Penance. The evidence against him is compelling, and it quickly becomes apparent that the distinction between "active scourger" and "almost scourger" will not be enough to save him. Caleb can only endure.
Caught between duty and friendship, Essek can do nothing to prevent Caleb from being tortured for information that he may not even possess. Essek can only watch, and hope that he has an opportunity to ease at least some of his friend's suffering.
Each chapter fills one of the daily prompts from the "April is the Cruellest Month" challenge.

Summary
Inspired by the very good fic "A Mote of Possibility" by SwissArmyKnife, another way the Nein did not meet Nott and Caleb.
Life after breaking out of an asylum isn't any easier than life after breaking out of jail, and Caleb is less healed and needs more help. That help is just hard to come by when the only one of them who can be the 'face' is a goblin.
Caduceus has been waiting for someone to come take him away, but when the goblin and her half-broken wizard turn up on his doorstep, he senses both that they're the right people and that it's not the right time. It's really the least he can do to help them heal and grow while they wait.
[Chapter 1 is a complete/stand-alone one-shot. Then I liked it so much I wrote some little vignettes/ficlets in the same universe that are in the other chapters.]

Summary
A few days after his escape from prison with his new goblin friend, Caleb thought-spirals his way into a panic attack by the campfire. He knows better than to desire comfort, but somehow, he still gets it.
Answer to a prompt by @criticalprompts on tumblr: Growing up, Caleb had learned not to want–that just led to disappointment. Later, he had learned that to want was to give yourself over to dark impulses. But, now, just for this moment, just this once, he could afford to treat himself.
