Summary

But as the heat rises, so does the "rot" Dazai carries in his veins, and Chuuya finds himself caught between the repulsion of his own heart and the violent urge to protect the boy who calls himself a ghost.

"Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me."
Chuuya stared down at his phone, jaw tight.
'Can’t make it. Sorry.'
That was all.
No explanation.
No attempt at sounding apologetic.
"Chuuya," Kouyou called calmly from across the room. "We can reschedule."
"No."
The atmosphere inside the studio felt tight now.
Irritated.
One wrong movement away from snapping completely.
Then—
"I might know someone."
Chuuya dragged a hand down his face.
"Well," he said flatly, "they better not waste my time."
Kouyou smiled.
That should’ve been the first warning sign.
A few minutes later, the studio door opened again.
Chuuya barely looked up at first, still scrolling through old schedule emails on his phone.
"Well," a familiar voice drawled lazily, "this feels hostile already."
Chuuya froze.
