Even on her very first missions with him, he never gave snide comments or odd looks. Never made a comment about her gender or qualifications. No long rake of his eyes up her body like it was a compliment. No. He was polite. Straightforward. A bit gruff. And just fucking listened. When she made a call, he followed it. Didn’t question her. Didn’t grill her about why or when. Would just nod and agree. Something she relished in. Because she offered him the same. Like she did all her fellow agents. Something they didn’t always offer her in return. Sure, the guy made some… odd joke here and there but she supposed everyone had their oddities. -
