The brighter the light, the darker the shadows. And in a super-powered society, those shadows are dark indeed. But whilst the world desperately trained more and more heroes, making that light brighter and brighter, the prestigious hero school, UA, had another idea. Why not tackle the problem at its source?
And so was born the infamous class 1-A. Would-be criminals from all over the country were selected, and a group of twenty now roam the halls of the school, alongside the heroes of the next generation.
Last year, the entirety of Mr Aizawa’s class A graduated. But this year was different. No, he didn’t believe they would all graduate back into society like the classes before them. He believed they could become something bigger. That was why, with gritted teeth and a manic smile, Eraser Head turned to his new class of students and said:
"You aren't villains - you never were, and you never will be. But you can take that fire inside of you and put it to good use. We're in a hero school, aren't we? Well then...
"Let's be heroes."

“‘Cuz we know you did somethin’,” Miss Muko said, her normally doe-ish makeup seemingly morphing, taking on a predator edge. Her teeth bit down on the stick of her lollipop. “We try to be on your side when we can ‘cuz Momo’s such a dumbass, but we ain’t never seen her like this.”
He swallowed. It stuck in his throat for one painful second.

Ken Takakura had long since relented to his daily life of school bullies, no friends, and ultimately being alone, only for the universe to finally give him the chance at making a bond when THE Momo Ayase stands up for him.
….Only for him to blow it.
Despite missing out on a golden opportunity, Ken refused to not at least give Miss Ayase his thanks. So with one little note placed inside a shoe locker, a bond is slowly built and two lives are slowly changed.
A No Power AU, where Ken misses out on his chance to follow after Momo, and decided to reach out in a different way.

They could talk about the most boring, mundane topics, and Ken would be fascinated, totally engaged. It was Momo's voice, hypnotic and bursting with personality - her smile, her sparkling rosewood pink eyes. And it was the silence, too, when he was speaking. The way she watched him with rapt attention, like there could be nothing else worth noticing in the entire universe.
Okarun's warmth washed over her in gentle waves. Whenever they just talked like this, dropped all the teasing and silly antics, time stretched in the most pleasant way; his sweet voice was the loveliest panacea, soothing her manic energy into a trusting stupor as she hung on every thoughtfully chosen word.

It assured him that the yellow roses were the polar opposite of red ones, and that they were often given to those with a new bond! Additionally, it went on to say that the yellow roses represented harmony, prosperity, and inner peace. All things Ken would gladly take, after a lifetime of bullying.
“It’s nothing to worry about,” Ken whispered to himself as he firmly shut his laptop. “It’s just a friendship thing. Way easier to deal with than romance. It– it’s only natural, I’ve never had a friend before! I’ll see her tomorrow, she said so herself.”
