    Tim padded down an empty, cold hallway of his family’s home. Thunder rolled across the sky, shaking the floor beneath him and sending a shiver down his spine. He hated nights like these. He had just gotten done with his near nightly bat-fan-cam patrol, and hadn't been able to fall asleep when he had finally drug himself home. His parents were off in Italy for some expensive art show, the idea being the more art they bought, the more tax breaks they'd receive. It was all hidden under the guise of charity of course, at the end of the three night art show a portion of the proceeds would be donated. 

    A tiny portion.

    Ra’s face is frozen on the screen, lips curled upward in smug, victorious pleasure.

    Tim doesn’t know how to look away.

    Dick is moving, grabbing Damian where he’s come up to see what’s going on as well. He puts his body between the boy and the screen, ignoring his startled protest. “Jason,” he snaps. “Take him into the manor, now.”

    Tim lets out a shuddery breath, grabbing the back of the second chair and dropping into it, hand still linked with Cass’s.

    His chest feels hollow.

    “Tim - ” Bruce says hoarsely, but he cuts him off.

    “Where did you get this footage?” he asks, voice flat and empty.

    Bruce swallows. “It was sent to me,” he says quietly.

    He huffs a laugh. It’s an awful, cored-out sound. “By Ra’s,” he murmurs.

    Hal has just come back from a mission and is too tired to realize that Clark can hear him talking to Bruce before mentioning a few informations his husband would have rather kept private.

    "Lantern, I am -" Bruce started saying, hoping Hal would be at least intrigued by the use of his title and stop talking.

    It was a vain wish. Hal was clearly in a post-space phase and paying little attention to what was happening around him - he heard the words but didn't perceive Bruce's tenseness.

    "Please, not at home too. Green Lantern is taking a break." Hal groaned, not heeding the warning in Bruce's voice and revealing far too much to Clark's attentive ears.

    Slade knows what torture looks like. He’s done it himself, he’s survived it plenty of times. The evidence of it on Jason is clear — bruising on his wrists and throat, missing fingernails, burns on his skin.

    He nudges Jason with his boot. “Hood.” He says, loudly. Jason doesn’t stir.

     

    Slade finds Jason after a few days at the hands of Black Mask.
