Summary
After 37 years, Daniel was back in his arms. Where he should be. Where he still fit perfectly. Warm, alive, content in his dreaming.
Armand was content, too, inasmuch as that was a state of being he was still capable of inhabiting. He felt less empty than he had in years and that, perhaps, was more than he’d had any right to hope for.
In which Armand holds Daniel while he sleeps, and thinks about both his loves.

“Don’t move,” Armand said with soft, distant focus, peering thoughtfully down at Daniel as if viewing an insect under a lens. “Stay still.”
And Daniel did. As best he could, at least, while being examined by a pair of ancient clementine-coloured marbles. “You’ve got that look in your eye. If I wasn’t dead already I’d assume you were about to kill me,” Daniel said, trying not to move as he spoke, ardently curious about what Armand wanted that justified denying him his nap.

“Like…that?” Armand repeats.
“Yeah. Aw, man!” Daniel groans again.
“But you did mean for it to happen?”
“What?” Daniel lowers his hands and looks at Armand.
“You meant to kiss me.”
