Ryland came back in with an array of devices taped together. He was powering them on as he went. “Translator!” He said triumphantly, putting it on the coffee table.
The whistle was repeated, but now overlaid by English in a synthetic voice. “Brave. But stupid.” Rocky did relax when Simon did, though still wasn’t happy with a random intruder in his best friend’s dome. “Get looked at by Armando.” He pointed towards the nook the medical robot now lived in. “Might be diseased.”
Simon bristled at the stupid comment, then nearly growled at the last insult. “I’m not *diseased*.”
Grace gave a deep sigh. “Okay, maybe the translator was a bad idea. But! Armando isn’t. You might still have water in your lungs or something else we don’t know about.”

Your smile was bright, only sliding down a small notch as you stepped off the stage and out of the camera’s reach. Your assistant was waiting for you as you talked to everyone, arranging the editing schedule and if there should be any reshoots or pickup shots. Finally you managed to work your way to him. Bling greeted you with a smile, gesturing for you to take the lead to your dressing room, a hand resting genially on your upper back.
That hand slid higher, clamping down in a vise-like grip once the door was closed. “You performed wonderfully, puppy, but,” a finger trailed along the collar of your shirt, tugging on the leather you wore beneath, “you broke a rule.”

It was a slow day, both in customers and how it felt like it was dragging on. You kept glancing at the clock, watching the minute hand slowly but surely crawl its way along. Then you finally registered the hour hand and perked up. You had one benefit of working this shift, and he was due any minute. You couldn’t help the smile cross your face as he walked in. Despite his dark clothing, he was the brightest spot of your day.
You reached out for a cup as he approached, already scrawling a big M across it. “Your usual?” You knew his answer, but you asked it anyway. No matter how many times you two did this little song and dance at the register you wanted to hear his voice at least as much as possible.

“Just what?” You knew that deep velvet tone that echoed from behind you. Alpha’s arm wrapped around your waist with an iron grip, tugging you away from Illinois’ touch. “You weren’t planning on leaving I hope.”

Your life in prison had become pretty comfortable, all things considered. You’d managed to keep yourself outside the tensions between the two gangs and their leaders, at least early on. Yancy was the rough and tumble type, while Demetrius was more calculating and logical, at least on the surface. You however, knew a fair bit more than most of the people here. Somehow, -you still weren’t sure how- you’d managed to end up in their respective beds. This had been going on for months and neither of them were aware of the other’s involvement with you. You knew you really should choose a side but they both took such great care of you.

Summary
