Summary
Enid is visiting Wednesday in New Jersey during the summer when Agnes calls her and tells her just how terrible her parents are. Suddenly Enid is trapped in a car that belongs to Wednesday’s father, an unlicensed Wednesday is behind the wheel, and they’re embarking on a road trip across the country to Fargo, North Dakota.
Neither one knows that the other is falling madly in love, but 22 hours in a car with a broken radio is the perfect recipe for love confessions.

Maybe it all hurt so much because her dislocated heart had to be fixed the old fashioned way, the way Grandmama would have fixed it, with a firm grip and a harsh wrench and twist.
