Having to look after him split up her responsibilities, mudding her focus on being the effective leader that she knows that she should be--tough and hard as steel--which makes a part of her wish he would just leave and go to Orth. But another part thinks differently. Through the small moments of their life, she can feel something growing for the boy, something not so tough, almost maternal. Because of these two conflicting ideas, she often tosses and turns over her true feelings for him.
But all of that changes when she comes back from a trip to the lower layers only to find out he got hurt. A part of her chalks it up to a simple accident, but that thought is only masking the worry within her. But when she learns the truth, her real feelings break through her hard, withered shell.
