He falls to his knees, just barely catching the glass before it shatters against the floor, and quickly waves his wand to mop up the alcohol. “Shit, I’m sorry,” he pleads. When his gaze drifts up, James nearly gasps in shock.
Or, in keeping up with the pureblood traditions, James goes to a dinner hosted by the Black family. He expects to enjoy some company, make some good business deals, maybe get drunk. What he doesn't expect is to find himself hidden away with the Black heir herself. Except... well, something's not quite right.

The Wizengamot had just passed a new Marriage Law that forced all the young wizards and witches to get married.
Draco couldn't find a woman who wanted to be his wife, so he had to accept the person chosen for him by the Ministry.
The only problem was that he didn't want to. Not once he knew who she was.

"I'm aware," Hermione sighed. "Harry, please tell me you're not about to develop a completely unhinged obsession with 'protecting' Draco Malfoy from imaginary threats."
Harry's silence was damning.
"Merlin's saggy left—" Ron couldn't even finish the sentence. "Mate. He doesn't need protecting. He needs you to maybe calm down and possibly seek professional help."
But Harry was already planning. Draco would need someone to watch over him. Someone to ensure his safety. Someone to make sure that beautiful, perfect, completely-capable-of-taking-care-of-himself man never faced danger again.
Someone like Harry.
