In this child's mind I saw many strange things: Words I had never heard, sights that do not exist. In every conceivable way the child was alien, not just to The City, but to this world in its entirety.
Now he awakes from his slumber; confused and alone. Curious, but afraid. It is dark now, and he will not last long.
This is fine.
I will watch over this child, from now until his time of death. And if he lives to see the day, my voice might guide him to be his truest self.
