Ilya let them speculate, keeping his expression carefully neutral as he finished changing. This was the game he'd gotten good at over the past year: deflecting without lying, misdirecting without being obvious about it. His teammates were good guys, but they didn't need to know. Couldn't know.

Shane closes his book and sits up straighter. “Whoa. The rest of the season? This is going to affect every single professional league. The MLH has to follow suit soon. We’ll probably hear something today or tomorrow.” Ilya feels the tension radiate through Shane's body as he reaches for his phone. He makes no move to get up and begins running a hand along Shane's thigh.
Ilya feels suddenly lighter at the possibility of a canceled hockey season. Months alone with Shane to do exactly what they’re doing, all day, every day. Cooking and cuddling and teasing and binging TV and going on walks with Anya. Not to mention the filthy, filthy things he'll be able do with his fiancé when there's nowhere to be. His own personal heaven on Earth.

Summary
Ilya guides them to shift their weight in time with the music. Shane remembers trying to dance with Rose this way. He'd made a valiant attempt, to be sure, but dancing with Ilya now makes it very clear that it was only an attempt, like everything else with her had been. This easy push and pull between him and Ilya, the way Shane lets himself be guided by the gentle pressure on his waist, the way Ilya half-sings the song in a voice meant just for him—this is the real thing, or at least a glimpse of it. He knows there can be more. He wants all of it.
"Fun, yes?" Ilya prompts, never one to let Shane hide his enjoyment.
"Yeah. Fun."
