Betrothal?! Courtship?! Either Ganon was insane or... No, he was insane! Just the thought of being Ganon’s consort made Link whimper, fighting his restraints because he refused to let himself be used as a pawn in this game! This political nonsense should have been a done deal—Ganon was defeated and Link had saved Zelda. Instead of things being resolved and restored to their former glory, Link was taken here and told he would have to marry Ganon eventually!
If looks could kill, then Link hoped that his antagonistic stares would soon be the death of Ganon.
After the defeat of Ganon, Link can finally rescue the princess and return Hyrule to her former glory. Unfortunately for him, the dungeon had different plans, sending him into a void that he can't make sense of.
He never expected to see Ganon, and he definitely didn't expect the courtship the boar pursues with him.

They stare at each other for a few beats, neither of them willing to look away. A test of courage.
They're still staring when he moves to meet Link where he stands. “What is your name?”
He says it out loud, carefully, “Link.”
He tests it on his tongue, quietly, and it feels familiar. "A pleasure, Link. My name is Ganondorf, chief of the Gerudo people. I look forward to seeing your power.” He smiles and it feels like danger.
The name Ganondorf echoes in his head, around his skull, bounces between his ears, then lands indiscriminately heavily on his heart like a weight.

What if Link was the one sent to the past instead of Zelda? And what if, instead of being found by Rauru and Sonia, he wanders to the desert and meets Ganondorf?
