    Again, in hindsight, he probably shouldn’t have tried to block a gods-damned spear with his bare hands. Because, surprisingly, the spear would, like, 99.9% pierce through his armor and then his very vulnerable skin into his equally vulnerable flesh if he tried to do that. So, yeah. Definitely the stupidest one on the long list of Stupid Things Percy Had Ever Done.
    But then again, at least it didn’t run through his girlfriend, which should really be considered a win.

    Or: Percy lets his fatal flaw get the best of him again. Annabeth is not thrilled.

    In other words, when the Argo II is under attack, Percy’s loyalty kicks in and he overexerts himself to save his friends. He has a lot of power, and a lot of power to give away in crisis. Leaving him exhausted after the fight.
