His mouth has a foul acrid taste and it takes him a while before he can open it to reply. “It was not San Lang and I,” he says and the bitterness is so heavy in his heart that he doesn’t find room to be embarrassed about the topic. “San Lang has a beloved person he’s been longing for, he must have found them at last.”
