Lina downs the rest of her drink instead. “I’m going away for a while.”
She crushes her cigarette in the glass. There's a light hiss as the burnt side hits the remaining liquid. “When?" Aurora asks. "Where?”
“Wherever my car will take me. West. Soon. And I thought…” she looks directly at Aurora, sitting on one of the wicker chairs, legs lost under the fabric of her skirt. “Perhaps you’d like to come with me. Would you?”
Aurora thinks of the Adenauer and snow and the thought of spending some days just with Lina in the car with the windows down and alone. Sylvia’s voice doesn’t even sound in her mind.
“Yes,” she says. “Yes. I would.”
