    Summary

Before HYDRA ever learned her name, she belonged to the river.

Anna Vaduva grew up in a quiet village outside Lublin, Poland, where winters bit hard, summers burned gold, and the Wisła wound through the valley like it carried a memory of its own. She was stubborn, bright, and full of restless life, a girl with uneven braids, skinned knees, and the quiet belief that the river could hear every secret she gave it.

    Then the war found her.

Taken in 1942, Anna is dragged into HYDRA’s hands and remade into something unrecognizable. Piece by piece, they strip away her name, her family, and the softness that once defined her, until all that remains is something sharper, colder, and far more dangerous.

But HYDRA did not create her in isolation.

At her side stands another of their making: James Buchanan Barnes, a man broken, rebuilt, and sent back into the world as the Winter Soldier. Bound by violence, memory, and the machinery that forged them both, their lives become tangled in ways neither of them can escape.

Still, some things refuse to disappear.

The river remembers the girl Anna used to be.

The question is whether she will remember her too.

    Summary

Look, I’ll be the first to admit that I had never much bought into the whole pearly gates or eternal damnation business. I couldn’t tell you what I was expecting of the afterlife - but it sure as hell wasn't this.

Moody glowered. "What is with you today?"

I grinned back at him. Oh, you have no idea.

You died, the first time, on a random thursday afternoon. Waking up in the body of a young - and very much alive - Moaning Myrtle, you couldn't quite believe your luck. But alas, no rest for the newly deceased. There is work to be done. Between stopping Tom Riddle from opening the Chamber of Secrets, evading the Knights of Walpurgis, and figuring out just why Olive Hornby hates you so much, you’ve got a very busy afterlife.

    Summary

Fate, destiny or however you want to call it, hasn’t shown favour to Daphne Bell—a half-blood witch with a hunting past—but against any forces or circumstances, she’s willing to change the prophecy and be the dictator of her own life (or even her death). She will manipulate the narrative, even if sacrifices are to be made along the way.
Morality seems to be another obstacle in her path, and defiant choices should be made. Some may argue that the ends justify the means, but Daphne will have to learn that wisdom cannot be achieved without the natural effect of her actions. Morality and ethics may be bendable, but consequences, however, cannot.
Meanwhile, James Potter —a wizard known for his steadfast ideals— encounters a great dilemma. Perhaps his principles weren’t built on rock as he thought, since they started to quickly waver down in the face of Daphne's stormy influence. The prince in shining armour isn't sure he can rescue his queen. Can his saviour complex avert an impending war and mend everything that’s broken—including her?

    Summary

Irene Hill wakes up in a hospital after an accident she can’t remember. All she knows is that it’s the 1940’s, she’s missing two years of memories, and she’s lost her mind. After all, with two sets of memories from different lives, what else could she be but mental?

“But the nineteen forties were nearly a century ago?” is her first thought, and isn’t that absurd? She’s probably in shock. Tag on the fact that there's a war, she’s survived the Blitz, and saw her mom dead after the air raids, it’s no wonder she’s losing her marbles. She breathes, feels the lasting heartbreak and hollowness of grief and the utter, terrifying sense of wrongness.

“It is the nineteen forties,” she reassures herself.

But then why does she know that the war will end in 1945? Why does everything look outdated? The dangling ceiling fans conflict with memories of florescent lights. Stiff metal cots clash with the familiarity of plush, adjustable beds. Flashes of something pass—memories of things impossible.

She grips her shirt’s hem, feeling linen grind into her palm. Maybe her mother’s chatter about past-er, future lives held some truth.

Or perhaps she’s gone around the bend.
