    Summary

An outsider suddenly requested access to the library's restricted archives, and Agott isn't sure how to react.

After all, how should one react when someone who left you a long time ago suddenly comes barging into your life, threatening the routine you were already used to?

Would she hear the explanation, or would she shut the door at her face?

In her imagination, Agott was sure she would choose the latter option. Now, faced with the very person that occupied her every waking thought, she isn't so sure anymore.

    Summary

“That’s too bad. A brimmed hat would’ve looked very nice on you, I can tell.” As she lightly tugs at the braces around their wrists. Clicking off both pairs, she turns on her feet and approaches the portal once more.

“But what if we could teach you the ways of healing? Of spells letting you save what was lost?”

An eye glistens in the light beneath the pointed hat. Of dangling ornaments and a tied-up ribbon swinging in tow.

“Unshackled from your self-imposed restraints? Of being granted the freedom and power to use magic to its limits?”

A cloak drapes down fully as the figure lands gracefully on the ground. An arm outstretched to the girl on her knees.

“Wouldn’t you like to be a true witch?”

And Coco couldn’t help but stare at Iguin. At the eye of the world. Time seems to pause, as if making fun of her dilemma. And at this moment, grabbing that hand doesn’t seem so bad.

-Or Iguin appears, Coco comes along with the brimmed hats, and things change.
But maybe it was always supposed to be that way.

    Summary

Blistered thumbs stroked roughly against his cheek, the pads of the fingers were calloused by years of gripping onto a pen. He was convinced underneath their nails were permanently stained by the ink.  The dragging of skin, gentle clips of nails into flesh, was familiar and comforting in a way.

It had been a decade, possibly more, since they had left. Hand grasping hand, looking for a sense of weight and anchorage in a perpetual storm of fear and anger. Tartah couldn’t remember a night in all that time where he hadn’t pulled himself into Custas’s bed, grabbing onto his shirt in a fervent search for security. Every time, he never doubted the receival a comforting stroking against his cheek in return.

    Summary

Agott knew the righteous path, long and winding but one that ended with her as the head librarian. In a position capable of change where maybe, just maybe, she could find a way to see master Quifrey again. Agott also knew the other path. The one darkened by silverwood trees overhead, with rocky roads underneath. Though she had not experienced it herself, she had heard the struggles and strife from Coco.

It was immeasurable, the difference between the two. There had always been a rift, a gap she couldn’t quite leap. Back at the atelier, the fingers blackened by ink. Back at the festival, the dress dirtied by blood.
