Dark.
It was so terribly dark and cold.
The air was thin, leaving heavy puffs from a heaving chest. Shivering goosebumps down every inch of bare skin, a swirl of nauseous pain mingling with the chill, making a cocktail of agony wail in his chest.
Where?
Where was this?
Endless space overhead, hard rock and rubble under torn shell. Pain. Endless. Unbearable.
Relief.
That equation didn't add up.

Summary
Leo expected several things when he portaled into Run of the Mill an hour after it closed. He expected the wait and kitchen staff to all collectively roll their eyes before begrudgingly going about their business. He expected Hueso to give a token sigh before waving him away to his office instead of making him leave like he always threatened to. He expected to munch on leftover breadsticks and fill Hueso in on his week; that he'd got the new highscore in Battle Crashers, that they'd stopped a group of new mutants who all thought armed robbery was the cool new thing to do.
That Mikey was on his last week of PT and Raph was showing signs of regaining vision and Leo had managed to get a full eight hours of sleep the other night.
What Leo didn't expect was to walk in with a smile and his usual cheeky “Hey bone man, did I miss the rush?” only to find Hueso surrounded by a group of unfamiliar Yokai, hands tied behind his back and a noticeable crack in his skull.
or The past shows up at Hueso’s door and Leo is dragged into the middle of it.

Leo and Donnie stumble across an old, glowing copy of The Arabian Nights in Draxum's library, and because they can't have one uneventful weekend, they're pulled into a world of magic rings and vengeful genies. With the book rapidly fading, it's a race against time to beat the Big Bad and save the world before they fade with it.

That was fine, he dragged the chair close and leaned into his line of sight, giving the incredibly indulgent smile he gifted Leo only when he was being particularly sentimental to his twin. "Hey. Hi. 'Heard, chef.' Leo caved, and popped the blister package to get two Nyquil in his mouth before he drank directly from the tap. 'Don't even know why you're so worried. It's just a little eensy weensy fever. We're totally fine.'
'Leonardo, I swear.' Sensei warned, feeling his intention.
Stepping out of the bathroom and into the hallway, Leo proclaimed to his headmate, 'Could a not-fine person do this?' and tried to do a handstand. He immediately fell on his ass, tumbling sore head over heels.

“You think it might be the same explosion?” Mikey murmurs.
“You heard it too?” Donnie cuts in before Leo can respond. They don’t appear to have any fresh injuries, but - “Nobody got hurt, right?”
“Oh, we heard it alright,” Leo says, and there is a hardness to his voice that makes Donnie pause. “When your lab imploded on itself and you disappeared. Ten years ago.”
