Summary

A late-night drop by a panicked thief leaves a broken jar of luxury face powder melting in the mud outside Maomao’s shop. Out of pure curiosity, she tests it—only to find the high-grade imperial cosmetic has been laced with a slow-acting poison meant to quietly wipe out the court.When she goes outside to find whatever guards lost their shipment, she runs into a tall, undercover soldier who is not soldier but a eunuch with a ridiculous face and a thoroughly annoying attitude.Maomao remains in her world of brothel while our sparkly leech had to move from the palace to her world because of missions and using her knowledge to tear down the motives of people working to tore the empire. (In short maomao was not sold in palace but jinshi had to change his world from time to time)
A gritty, street-level rewrite of the Rear Palace arc. just an investigator who needs an expert he can actually trust, and an apothecary who just wants to be left alone with her father and shop.
Very loosely following light novels because I am using my own original ideas.
