Summary
A lot of people tell Tim that he looks just like his mother.
They share the same eye color and shape, often cold and calculating. The same sharp smiles and ghostly pale skin, and the same, lean body frames that could almost be described as delicate.
One last thing they have in common is an orange pill bottle.
The only difference is the name.
(Or how parents pass things on to their children.)

Summary
And it was only October. Tommy still had to wait another month and a half until he could see him again.
Suddenly getting an idea, Tommy dashed up the stairs to Wilbur’s room. He pulls a yellow sweater off of the clothes hanger and puts it on. Tommy grabs the fabric of the collar and presses it to his nose, imagining that Wilbur was here right now to give him a hug.
Oh, what he would give to have Wilbur be home for the summer and beg him for some chips.

Summary
Wilbur still looked tired, but there was a small smile adorned on his face as he looked at Tommy. “Did you eat breakfast yet, sunshine?”
Tommy tried not to blush as he shook his head. “No, but no coffee. I think I would literally explode. And don’t call me sunshine.”
Wilbur laughs. “Don’t worry, I won’t give you coffee if it would save the world. And what else am I supposed to call you?”
“My name,” Tommy says, following Wilbur into the kitchen.
Wilbur stops and turns around, a sly grin on his face. He ruffles Tommy’s hair. “But you’re like a mini sun. It fits.”
Tommy slaps his hand away and pushes past him into the kitchen, taking his usual seat on the stool. “It's tacky.”

Summary
He chirped again involuntarily, and then it was like he couldn’t stop. Tommy pressed his hand over his mouth, biting down on his tongue, but he only succeeded in giving himself a coughing fit. He didn’t want to wake up his foster family. They didn’t have to take care of him, Tommy was old enough to do it himself. He has been doing it himself.
But what if they laugh? What if they aren’t apathetic to your struggles, what if they pull at your feathers and make fun of the chirps you can’t control? What if—
“Tommy? Open the door, please.”
Tommy sucked in a breath. That was Wilbur again.
