“How the fuck do you know my name?” Dean hisses.
The man doesn’t look scared. He is watching Dean like there is nothing else worth watching, lips a little parted, eyes a little soft. And blue. Real blue, like the ocean on a postcard.
The ice spreading down Dean’s spine makes him shiver.
“I suppose you could say I’m your guardian angel,” the man murmurs. His breath fogs pale between them. All of him is unnaturally warm, like Dean’s touching somebody with the sun sewn up beneath their skin. “I have known you, Dean Winchester, for a very long time.”

Summary
To get custody of his five-year-old son Jack, Castiel enlists the help of Dean, his alpha roommate and best friend (with occasional benefits), to pose as his fiance. It's a foolproof plan really. People are always mistaking them for a couple for some reason, so why not use that to their advantage? Of course, there's the teensy problem that Castiel has been secretly in love with Dean for years, and playing a happy couple for however long it takes to get Jack back might just send him into full on pining sickness. “It just happened,” she repeated with a mocking voice. “You literally blew him in a gym under the bleachers like some kind of feral animal and then sat through ramen with him talking about basketball like nothing changed. You two are literally fucking each other with your eyes and hands and mouths but you can’t even properly talk about feelings?”
He shrugged because arguing felt pointless when she was right. “Talking’s harder.”
