Katsuki returns home, they say he’ll make a full recovery.
He locks eyes with one of the two photos framed and placed on his countertop. It’s a class photograph, he locks eyes with a familiar man, then just a teenager- a habit from long, long ago. Green eyes meet his through the glass. Suddenly, that person that he’s been thinking about on the walk home had a concrete face, no longer something blurry. Seeing Midoriya Izuku like this, it brings a flash of familiarity, but in a way that brings no emotions at all other than a brief, contemplative:
I think I loved you.

When Katsuki had the Hanahaki flowers blooming within him removed, he was prepared for almost all the side effects: blurry memories, dull emotions, and a scratchy throat. But no one had mentioned that one side effect would be Izuku's growing attention.
