It was the middle of winter. Everywhere but the salted courtyards between the wings was heaped with snow. More was expected to fall within the next few days. “How are the gardens?” He couldn’t help but ask. Actually, yes, he could have, but he didn’t want to. Avoiding this shit was doing the same thing tossing his Ravager scrolls into the fire had done. Self-harm, and for what? An instance of relief? There was none to be had, not anymore.
The cold air was silent. Wilbur stopped moving, instead staring at the corner full of spears, swords, and maces and every other unaltered blade left sitting for nearly a year. 10 months and 3 days. 10 fucking months.
