"Now he can’t escape the faint music seeping through his walls the past three nights. The low hum of the bass is just barely perceptible but enough that he can feel the vibration in his bones. The melodies floating in the air, teasing him like a half-remembered dream that he can't quite grasp. What he hears most clearly are the screams from the crowd as each song comes to an end, a muffled roar that rolls over him like a far-off thunder.
He shifts positions again and tries not to think about who they’re cheering for."
