Summary
“Let me do everything.” Shane slowly helped Ilya out of his clothes.
Shane kneeled beside the tub, grabbed a wet cloth, and carefully washed Ilya’s arms. There was no rush; only the soft sound of the water surrounded them.
“Shane.” Ilya pulled away slightly. “You shouldn’t be doing this.”
“I want to.” Shane desperately wanted to make Ilya feel better. He wanted to erase the shame he knew Ilya felt for needing help. To show him that it was okay not to be okay. That he was still deserving of love no matter what.
Or, Shane is there for Ilya during a depressive episode

Summary
Refusing to let Ilya ruin his career by signing with Ottawa, Shane chooses to really give their relationship a try and moves to Boston to live with Ilya and become a Raider. What follows is enough public scrutiny and backlash from his team that it has him questioning if he made the right decision. Until moments with Ilya and the Raiders show him exactly why he chose correctly.
---
Hayden’s eyes flickered to Shane as he sat on the bench, chewing on the edge of his mouth guard.
“Don’t fucking look at him,” Ilya insisted as he bent down for the faceoff.
“Excuse me?” Hayden mumbled, eyes darting back to him.
“You heard me,” he retorted, his tone clipped. “He’s not your teammate anymore; he’s mine. If you think Marlow is a problem to your game, wait until you see what I will do to your team if you hurt anyone on mine again.”
Hayden scoffed, dipping his head as he tried to focus on the game. Something about Ilya’s words still rang through his head though, sounding so definitive that he didn’t want to risk seeing what he was actually referring to when he said that.
The puck dropped again, and Ilya stole it before he could comprehend how quickly it happened.

“This is strange doctor,” Ilya muttered.
“It’s not strange,” Shane said, filling out a quick check-in form. “It’s normal.”
“There are posters about glaucoma.”
“Yes.”
“Do you have glaucoma?”
Shane blinked at him. “No.”
“Okay,” Ilya said, but he didn’t look fully convinced.

Summary
“You sick?” Wiebe calls from the other end of the bench, “or just making bad life choices? Because one of those means your ass is getting back on the ice, Rozanov.”
“Who says it can’t be both?” he says, because he’s just like that, even when it feels like his stomach is trying to turn itself inside out and this useless team still hasn’t even come close to winning a single goddamn game and Shane’s on an away trip so it’s not like being in fucking Ottawa is useful right now, anyway.
--
“Shane. Ilya is a grown man and I don’t know if he’d appreciate his boyfriend’s mother showing up out of the blue. I’m sure he’s fine.”
“I know, I just. I’m in Florida,” he says, and it’s the open plea in his voice that gets her. Sue her, her baby may be a twenty-seven-year-old superstar athlete, but hearing him upset and needing her still tugs at all of her heartstrings.
“Okay,” she sighs. “Okay.”
And she knows it must be the right choice, because Shane exhales loudly into the phone. “Thanks, mom. I owe you.”
or: Fresh off his move to Ottawa, Ilya gets sick. He can take care of himself, but he really wishes his Mama was there. Or Shane. He gets Yuna instead.
