Summary
"You can't choose the family you're born into, but you can choose the family you love."
A saying that has been said once before, but not sure what they meant by it. Megan Baker grew up with her single father alone who is a police officer in her hometown. So far her life was a bit in the norm, being left alone to keep an eye on the house as her father works. That is until one day her life was about to change when her father came home with a little boy who would soon-to-be her new friend and be part of her family.
She was never against the idea at first, but within time she starts to feel a sort of resentment towards the boy. What’s so special about a boy who isn’t fully related to you but has your father who cares for him more than you? Feeling a bit of jealousy towards the boy, she starts to keep her distance and hold grudges.
Despite how things changed in her life, she will soon learn that family doesn’t necessarily have to be in blood, but those she surrounded herself with that make her feel at home. But will it be too late for her to realize that holding grudges will end in her sadness or will she overcome her feelings and reach out to express her true feelings?
