“Can I tell you a secret?” Jayce whispers in the mermaid’s marble ear, just to be extra safe. He has to stand on his tippy-toes to reach her. This way he can avoid any chances of someone overhearing his most closely guarded secret.
“I’m not having professional thoughts.”
She stares blankly ahead.
“About Viktor,” Jayce clarifies when the statue does not react. “My lab partner.”
OR
Jayce realizes he's horny for Viktor. Which is fine, really. He's managing. But after Viktor doesn't join him at the Piltover Academy End of Year Ball, Jayce has one-too-many drinks and ends up trashed. Which is also fine.
Until it's not. Because Viktor shows up after all. Surely the Boys of Progress can keep it together? (And if they can't, you can bet there's gonna be lots of secret mutual pining and drunken chaos until they get their shit together)

Summary
When an urgent radio transmission comes in with claims of an immune survivor, Viktor Novotny—once esteemed immunologist, now Firelight engineer—and his “half-feral, borderline-suicidal science boyfriend” Jayce Talis decide to risk everything to chase a cure for ARC-4N3.
Going north is like asking to die. It's crazy, and maybe even a little stupid, but they'd both be lying if they said that wasn't part of the appeal.
Whether a cure is possible or not is still to be discovered, but regardless, they’re determined to see what still remains—both of the world, and of themselves.

Vi paced the length of the room with her chin pinched firmly between her fingers. She had been tracing a wide oval on the floor, her boots clanking heavily with every step. They had been over the plan several times already, Viktor lamented soundlessly, but he understood her nerves. Ekko, who was busy spinning himself in one of Viktor’s office chairs, slowed to a stop with an exaggerated groan, dragging the toe of his shoes along Viktor’s floor. “Vi, how many more times are you gonna make us—”
“Until it’s perfect, Ekko.” Vi interrupted brusquely. “Everyone needs to be on the same page about what they’re doing, where they’re supposed to be, and what we’re after. We’re not gonna get another shot at this for months if we fail.”

OR: The kids from Zaun have a plan—find whatever Jayce Talis has been working on and steal it. The Progress Day Gala is the perfect opportunity to do so. The only issue? Viktor has to attend to "present" his research to Heimerdinger. He should be in and out quickly—just long enough to get Vi into place and dip. If all goes smoothly, he'll never have to interact with Jayce Talis at all. Simple, right?
