Summary
Atsumu's life is pretty boring. He spends most of his time stuck in the office, having drinks with his coworkers, and occasionally hooking up with random people. He's not too shabby at his job, makes a decent salary, and thinks he'll soon take over as the head of his department. But his boss ruins his plans and hands the position to his son, Sakusa Kiyoomi.
Atsumu quickly figures out that there's more to this decision. And he finds a particular pleasure in teasing his new department head as well.

Atsumu took in a deep breath, steeling himself for what was about to be a terrible conversation. He opened the door, meeting eyes with his furious brother.
“Ya son of a bitch, I knew-“ Osamu cut himself off when he noticed the bruise on Atsumu’s cheek. His eyes trailed down, stopping at the finger-shaped bruises around his neck.
“‘Samu, you really shouldn’t be here,” Atsumu said quietly, all his loud confidence gone as he shifted uncomfortably under Osamu’s gaze.
“He’s fuckin’ hittin’ ya?” Osamu’s voice was lower now, but his angry tone made Atsumu shrink away from him. “That why ya been avoidin’ me?”

atsumu fell asleep during sex.
it’s not a big deal. sakusa doesn’t take it personally; it would be easy to, but he’s confident in himself and their relationship, understands that after the string of shifts atsumu’s had, he’s absolutely exhausted. he’s so tired that it doesn’t matter that they haven’t seen each other in almost a week; he’s literally saving lives at work (children’s lives, as atsumu would be sure to specify) and it’s extremely taxing, both mentally and physically.
