Jin Ling wakes up to hear knocking on his door, he ignores it in favor of wallowing in his self-pity and grogginess. But the knocks persist, slightly becoming louder even. Groaning, Jin Ling gets up from his bed, not bothering to put on his outer robe as he’ll make this conversation quick. He puts on the fiercest glare and meanest scowl he can muster and opens the door to give whoever dares to disturb him a piece of his mind, propriety be damned.
“What do you–” Jin Ling starts just as he slams the door open but his anger dissipates the moment he sees who’s on the other side, “...want?”
“Jin Ling,” Lan Yuan breathes out, eyes wide and cheeks pink as he holds a plate of buns, “I– uhm, I…” he swallows, eyes shifting from his face to his body then back to his face, “Jin Ling. Hi.”
