Summary
She reminded herself what she had initially come for: The investigation of the Count’s death; to find out if she was indeed facing the Count’s murderer for the third time this week. She sat back in the chair and faced him with mild scepticism, mostly as a counterattack. “I’m surprised to see an acknowledged doctor like yourself in a gritty place like this.” Julian leaned back in the same manner which revealed exactly how long and slender his torso was. He was remarkably broad over the shoulders though. The low cut neckline of his shirt revealed the muscled chest and dark hairs sprinkled over sweaty, pale skin. Memories of how she had patted him down the last time he had broken into her shop, and how fit he had turned out to be despite his lanky appearance, came to mind. He raised his brows and let out a short laugh. “That, my dear, is because you don’t know me – yet.”
