Kihyun was so nice, letting him sleep, buying groceries, coming back to his apartment and waking him up all boyfriend-y, offering to cook for him. Changkyun loves him for it, and decided he's going to help him out in the kitchen, to show his appreciation.

Summary
Changkyun is a rookie producer working on contract under the head engineer of one of Starship’s preferred private studios. It’s quiet, reliable work, he mostly handles pre-mixing, some session coordination, and editing, but he’s hungry for more.
When the studio is pulled in to finalize Monsta X’s upcoming mini-album under extreme time pressure, Changkyun is assigned to assist. It’s a big opportunity, but nothing compares to the moment the soulmate mark activates while helping a member test vocals.
Only... nothing happens. No reciprocation. Just a grim expression and a polite, “Don’t read into it.”
That member, and the entire pack, are already bonded. And they make it clear: they don’t want another person involved in their dynamic, soulmate or not.
Changkyun swallows the rejection, determined to stay professional. But fate, or life, has other plans.
