Harua made a mad dash the last few meters…right into the arms of the stranger next to Jo. The stranger received him easily and Harua squealed as he was spun.
"Who's that?" Taki whispered, not-so-quietly. "His hair looks like sakura blossoms."
"I dunno," Maki said, also not-quietly.
"I told you guys already!" Harua said with the stranger's hand in his. "My brother is picking me up. This is Nico-nii."
Jo almost wanted to faint. What are the odds that the pretty, intimidating stranger that sat next to Jo was the brother of one of Maki's best friends?

“Good to see you again.” Fuma grins proudly, crossing his arms on his chest.
“Holy sh– I mean.” Yudai clears his throat. “God, you have… changed.” he says, and he has to stop himself from staring. All of a sudden, nostalgia hits him, and he almost feels like he's back in Barcelona, in 1992. Ten years ago… and of all places, he meets Fuma here. “What are you doing in Sakamoto?”
The year is 2002. Yudai left his athlete career behind when, following a family tragedy, he became the guardian of his nephew, Taki. Eight years later, he decides to move them back to his home town.

“Oh,” Jo says, and scrunches his nose, “Do they think I’m gay?”
Maki thinks for a minute and shakes his head, “No, I think your straight rep is pretty strong. Don’t worry.”
“I am gay, though,” Jo says casually, “they’ve got terrible gaydar."
