    Shortly after the 2018 Winter Olympics, reigning ice dance champions Ilya Rozanov and Svetlana Vetrova shock the world by defecting from Russia to the United States. Expected to take gold in 2022, Vetrova suffers a catastrophic injury that takes the team off the ice for two seasons.

    In their absence, Canada’s Shane Hollander and Rose Landry rocket to the top of the podium. Even after taking gold at Beijing 2022, they can’t ignore the unfavorable comparisons to Rozanov/Vetrova, or the fact that the team will return for Milano Cortina 2026.

    Ilya and Svetlana are praised for their emotional depth and the difficulty of their routines, bursting back into competition with the same fire they've always had. Shane and Rose are technically flawless and powerful skaters, determined to prove that their gold wasn't a fluke. As Milan approaches, neither team can afford a distraction—but Shane and Ilya find just that in each other.
