Dear fucking journal, or whatever.
The only reason I'm even writing this is because Vesemir is watching me to make sure I do it. The moment I make it out of this shit hole I'm never writing again, so you better enjoy this one and only entry. I don't need this; it's a complete waste of my time. I'm not a trainee anymore; the old man may think he can tell me what to do, but he's dead fucking wrong. I've walked the path for 9 years now, went through all the same shit that the others did, and I can handle myself.
I knew I never should have told Eskel about the werewolf contract this year; the fucker snitched on me and now Vesemir thinks that I'm "too reckless." This journal is supposed to "clear my thoughts," but I know that's all bullshit. I don't care if it worked for Geralt. I didn't need one for my first year on the path, and I sure as hell don't need one now.
I'll probably just burn this book when I make camp tonight halfway down the mountain.

Summary
When a hunt leaves Lambert injured and rarely conscious, Geralt and Eskel feel helpless to do anything for the youngest wolf witcher. So when he asks for his friend Aiden, they decide to track down the cat witcher and bring him back to Kaer Mohren. It might have been easier if they had ever met Aiden, but to Geralt and Eskel, the witcher was nothing more than a name - and one they had hardly heard in the past year, at that.
