Summary
Several years ago, a postdoctoral student named Elizabeth found herself landing in Middle Earth, a place that she had read and watched many times before. Only, this Middle Earth was different- darker. The Last Alliance of Elves and Men never happened for the elves abandoned mankind by forming a secret truce with Sauron. Mankind eventually won the war at great cost and quickly turned on those who betrayed them, the elves. Now, all elves in Middle Earth are hunted, and those caught are enslaved.
In this strange and dark version of Middle Earth, Elizabeth found her way to Minas Tirith, became a heralded healer, and eventually her medical skills, knowledge of Middle Earth, and whits granted her the honorable position of Head Advisor to the King. For many years she has served Gondor well and fallen in love with this magical- if at times barbaric place. Yet, all this changes when an elf she recognizes shows up. Now, she finds herself navigating the dark waters of politics whilst trying to keep both her morality and responsibilities in tact.
What will happen when she finds herself the master of an elven slave she never wished to own?

Summary
They’ve spent the last seven years at each other’s throats.
Sirius Black and Alexandra Garnier: Gryffindor’s golden boy and Slytherin’s princess. He called her a bitch before he knew what that meant. She hexed his eyebrows off in third year and never once apologised. He’d sell her to the Dark Lord himself if it meant getting the last word-at least, that’s what he tells everyone. That’s what he tells himself.
But seventh year is different. The war outside is crawling in. People are vanishing. Trust is cracking like ice underfoot. And then the Triwizard Tournament is announced-something ancient, deadly, and distractingly stupid-and suddenly they’re both drawn into the mess of it, like fate thinks it’s funny.
And Sirius can’t stop noticing that her hands shake when no one’s looking.
That she looks at him like she’s daring him to care.
He’ll swear he still hates her. He’ll pick fights, make jokes, say all the wrong things. But when it comes down to it, he’ll bleed for her without thinking.
And Alexandra?
“I’d rather be crucioed.”
She means it most of the time.
