His smile was indeed comforting and understanding - and yet satisfaction and unplaced pride too were disguised behind it, the corners of his lips seeming to be struggling to not curl up any more than they already had.
As soon as Sonic realized Shadow was looking, the hand that had been gently scratching behind Shadow’s ear almost harshly turned Shadow’s face to look away, no longer privy to whatever expression the hero had on his face.
“Don’t start staring now, darling.
Don’t you know it’s rude to stare?”
or Shadow was hit with something, and found himself trapped with none other than his oddly behaving blue hedgehog of a rival.
