Summary
Jon looks up, meets his eyes and tries for a soft smile. “I can’t wait to see what you bring home.”
“I guess it’ll be a surprise, then,” Martin laughs, squeezing Jon’s hand before letting go. He mirrors Jon’s smile. “They’ve got those little packets of seeds down in the village. I’ll, uh, see what speaks to me.”
“And here I thought we were free of terrors. Talking plants, oh my—”
“You know what I meant!” Martin lightly swings the dishcloth in Jon’s direction, brushing against his cheek with a fwap.
“I do, I do. If some conversational rosemary is the most we have to worry about anymore, I’d call that a victory.”
Jon’s never been much good with plants. Or people. Or himself. He’s no gardener, and he knows it. But in spite of it all, an idea takes root, and Jon finds the strength to nurture new growth. All it takes is some time, some sunshine, and some love.
Or, Jon, plants, and trying again.

Summary
Jon wouldn’t say he’s happy, what with Martin being so upset, but his concern is underpinned by how strangely good it feels to be able to have hard days in the normal way; to lament bad weather and wet socks; to have problems that are nothing a lazy night in and good company won't fix. They fought so hard, to have days like this.
or: Martin has a day as mundane as it is long. Jon rises to the occasion.

Summary
In his head, Jon keeps a list of all the things he likes about Daisy’s safehouse. Sometimes, the list is all that’s keeping him sane. Every time something happens that threatens to drive him up the wall, he pulls out his little mental list, and goes through it item by item, and suddenly the bad things don’t seem very bad at all.
There’s the scenery, for one. There’s the old-fashioned design of the cottage, sometimes annoying but mostly just charming.
And then, of course, there’s Martin.
Jon and Martin get settled in Scotland, and settle into their relationship in the process.

His eyes are at once dead and horribly, horribly alive. The milky film over his cornea does little to hush the luminous golden brown of his irises, huge around pupils so shrunken that Martin can hardly see them.
Jonathan Sims blinks. Then he frowns.
“Am I to take it you’ve never met a vampire, then?”
Oh, Martin is going to get a rubbish review.Or,
Struggling for income, Martin registers with an app that connects vampires with willing blood donors. His first client is not at all what he expected.

Summary
By the time things settled, when Martin had finally managed to crack through his cold shell, feel some of his old self returning to him in bits and pieces, they had found their little routine.
One that had the two of them sleeping in the same bed, making breakfast, going to the mart. Where Jon reached for his wrist while they slept, and Martin luxuriated in the gentle warmth of his fingers.
But not one where Martin reached back. One that had Martin kissing Jon awake or taking his hand over the breakfast table, because ... Martin never had the courage to try. And then it never became a part of the routine.
And Martin desperately wanted it to be.

Summary
“Tattoos don’t always have to be profound,” Martin says. “For a lot of people they’re simply a fun means of expression, like any other art. But it sounds as if you’ve found something that’s meaningful for you?”
“I think so.” Jon takes a notebook out of his satchel and leafs through it to find the right page, then holds it out. The words are written in neat, looping handwriting:
‘Only in silence the word, only in dark the light, only in dying life: bright the hawk's flight on the empty sky.’

Summary
Jon and Martin wake up in a new dimension. With it brings new and old challenges, but they will face them together.
Like everyone else, I was thoroughly traumatised after Ep 200 and started writing this as a way to process my trauma and to allow myself to sleep. I'm sticking as close to canon as possible, but my own interpretation.
