Sanemi’s rough voice cut through the air. He stepped directly in front of her, scarred face scowling.
“You didn’t say a damn thing the entire time. Not a word. You always do this—sittin’ there like you’re better than the rest of us.”
Giyuu blinked at him, silent.
Sanemi’s irritation spiked. His voice lowered but grew sharper, the kind that cut to the bone.
“You think you’re special ‘cause of that whole ‘I’m not like you’ crap you once spat? Hah? You’ve got zero social skills, your dumb little ponytail looks like a crow’s nest, and don’t get me started on that annoying stare you give everyone.”
His voice rose with each insult, harsh and unrelenting.
And then—
Her eyes shimmered, lips trembling. She looked like she was about to break.
In the softest, broken whisper:

It all started with a stupid Halloween party. All they did was hook up at a party neither of them wanted to attend, and yet somehow they found themselves falling into a dangerous, comfortable routine. Sanemi made it clear he wasn’t looking for a relationship, and Giyuu was fine with that, or so he thought. If they agreed it wasn’t going to be anything more than a friends with benefits situation, why did their hearts tend to flutter at the thought of each other? Why did everything they found out about the other only blur the line between hooking up and intimacy?
It would only get harder the more they learned to trust each other, the stronger their bond became, and the longer they continued to dance around unspoken words. Only time would tell how much longer the two of them could deny their true feelings, or more so, how long it'd take Sanemi to admit it to himself.

So why is it now, after the final battle and with only a couple things making life worth living, that everything is going downhill?

“…And who was the barista.” He practically whispered.
“Our good friend Tomioka Giyuu!” One thing about Kyojuro Rengoku, is that he could NOT read a fucking room.
Sanemi’s eyes immediately widened before he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Fuck.” He grumbled in annoyance.

Sanemi Shinazugawa “hated” the arrogant bastard named Tomioka Giyuu. He hated the prick since high school, so why would that ever change? Maybe a change had to be made when every morning, the guy starts making him the best coffee he’s ever had. Or maybe not, that stunning, French motherfucker can die for all he cares. (Or so everyone thought.)
